Teaching at Lake Country Classical Academy

Lake Country Classical Academy (LCCA) is an independent public charter school and is honored to be the first Hillsdale College Member School in Wisconsin. The Hillsdale K-12 curriculum provides the architecture for LCCA’s academic program that emphasizes a foundation in liberal and civic education and the core disciplines of math, science, history, and language arts, including phonics and writing, with attention to music, art, and foreign language.

Faculty and staff are employed by Lake Country Classical Academy, not by a local public school district. We hire without consideration to race, religion, creed, color, national origin, age, gender, marital status, veteran status, disability, or other legally prohibited form of discrimination.

Our Mission

The mission of Lake Country Classical Academy (LCCA) is to train the minds and improve the hearts of young people through a content-rich classical education in the liberal arts and sciences with instruction in the principles of moral character and civic virtue.

Lake Country Classical Academy exists to restore the classical liberal arts tradition in public education. Guided by the Western heritage of wisdom, virtue, and self-government, we seek to form young men and women for lives of character and civic responsibility. Our mission is not simply academic success, but the cultivation of the soul toward the good, the true, and the beautiful.

This is not a conventional public school principalship. It is a higher calling: to steward a growing institution, inspire teachers and families, and anchor a community in the enduring ideals of liberty and virtue.

  • Mentor and coach teachers, ensuring excellence in classroom instruction and culture.
  • Represent our school to parents, community members, authorizers, and civic partners.
  • Build and sustain a strong administrative team aligned with mission.
  • Assist with ongoing fundraising efforts through presentations, donor tours and relationship building.
  • Report regularly to the Board of Directors on school progress and plans.

  • Moral Character: Integrity, couragetrustworthiness and humility.
  • Cultural Builder: Capacity to foster a disciplined, joyful, mission-aligned school culture.
  • Engaging Presence: Excellent communication skills with parents, faculty, board and civic partners.

Knowledge & Skills

  • A growing expertise of the Hillsdale K-12 classical model, with commitment to immersing oneself and the faculty in its principles.
  • Ability to ensure curriculum fidelity and uphold the cultural standards of classical education.
  • Broad grasp of the liberal arts and their role in American education.
  • Strong organizational and personnel management skills.
  • Financial acumen with budgeting, auditing, and fiscal controls.
  • Familiarity with state and local reporting requirements.

Why This Role Matters

Lake Country Classical Academy is a financially stable, K-12 school with over 530 students currently enrolled. It’s first year of operation was the 2021-2022 school year. We are seeking a leader that can build on our existing foundation, lead our school to new heights, and create a sustainable future that can serve families for generations to come.

Our next leader should possess the character and vision to embody our mission and inspire others. Called to steward a community of learning, you will form teachers and students alike and build a legacy of classical education. If you are ready to lead with courage and conviction, we invite you to email your resume and cover letter to: lccaboard@lakecountryclassical.org
